Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 22, 2026
1. Who We Are
Truth or Dare is operated by Funneldom, a company registered in Athens, Greece. As an EU-based company, we are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and treat the protection of your personal data as a core responsibility.
For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at: apps@funneldom.com
2. No Account Required
Truth or Dare does not require you to create an account. The app works entirely anonymously — we do not collect your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information.
3. What Data We Collect
On-Device Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:
- A cache of recently fetched questions (to allow offline play)
- Your onboarding completion status
- Saved party game state (player names you enter and current scores)
Note on player names: If you use Party Mode, you may enter player names. These are stored only on your device and are never sent to our servers.
Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
The app is free and supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
- IP address and approximate location
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
On iOS, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before any personalized advertising data is collected. If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown.
On Android, we display Google's GDPR consent form for EU users before personalized ads are enabled. If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown.
Google's use of advertising data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Analytics (Mixpanel)
If you consent to personalized advertising, we also enable anonymized product analytics via Mixpanel. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. We collect only behavioral events such as:
- Game mode selected (Quick Play or Party)
- Vibe selected (Friendly or Spicy)
- Question type selected (Truth or Dare)
- Number of questions viewed per session
No personal data, player names, or question content is sent to Mixpanel. If you do not consent to personalized ads, analytics are disabled entirely.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use data only to:
- Deliver and maintain the Truth or Dare app
- Show advertisements that fund the free app
- Understand how users interact with the app (only with consent)
We do not sell your personal data to third parties or share it with anyone outside of the service providers listed below.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data only with the following sub-processors, each used to operate the service:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Anonymous question delivery | EU (AWS Frankfurt) |
| Google AdMob | Advertising | United States |
| Mixpanel | Anonymized product analytics (consent-gated) | EU (EU data residency) |
For providers based outside the EU, data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other GDPR-compliant transfer mechanisms.
6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process data under the following legal bases:
- Consent — advertising identifiers and analytics data are processed only after you grant permission via the ATT prompt (iOS) or the GDPR consent form (Android). You may withdraw consent at any time via your device settings.
- Legitimate interests — anonymous question delivery via Supabase, where no personal data is stored or transmitted.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
Because we do not collect personal data directly, most GDPR rights (access, rectification, portability) apply primarily to data held by our third-party providers.
You can withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time:
- iOS — go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Trackingand toggle off "Truth or Dare".
- Android — go to Settings → Google → Ads and reset or opt out of ad personalization.
For any other data requests, email us at apps@funneldom.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) at www.dpa.gr.
8. Data Retention
We do not retain personal data on our servers. On-device data (question cache, game state) is cleared when you uninstall the app. Third-party providers retain data according to their own policies:
- Google AdMob — see Google's advertising data retention policy.
- Mixpanel — anonymized events are retained for 12 months.
9. Age Restriction
Truth or Dare is intended for users aged 17 and older. The app contains mature and suggestive content in its Spicy mode. We do not knowingly collect data from people outside of the intended demographic.
10. Data Security
All communication between the app and Supabase is encrypted via TLS. We use only the Supabase anonymous (public) key for question delivery — no authenticated sessions or user credentials are transmitted. On-device data is stored in the app's private sandbox and is not accessible to other apps.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
